Finally, a good movie..and your kids can watch it! It's about a Maori girl who's born a twin but her brother, who the family believes will be the new chief, dies just after birth along with their mom. Her dad leaves town and she's brought up by her grandpa. It's a great story with some funny dialog and some interesting Maori culture. Plus you get NZ scenery and accents.... : )

I also really liked this movie, although if you're suspension-of-disbelief challenged you may not be able to enjoy it. There is some very believable crying in one scene though.

I missed the beginning, but I am looking forward to checking it out again. I really enjoyed this movie. I like the myth quality of it. I think this movie provides a very interesting cultural experience. Plus, gotta love the accents and scenery...
