This is a very overrated movie (maybe even by me). It's beautiful but lacks anything resembling a plot (similar to the film Stalingrad). A young Jewish pianist hides out in Warsaw during WW2. One thing the film did reasonably well was give us glimpses of life in the ghetto and of the gradual methods used by the Nazis to terrorize and subdue the Jews before eventually deporting them to concentration camps to be killed.

I agree that is was overrated (I'm hesitant to give it a B). And that's coming from a fan of both war movies and pianists. Still better than average, and has something to say, but lacking some depth to put it over the top.
