I may be giving credit more for the book than for the movie. It's a funny, psychotic, unpredictable tale of a hapless Brit sucked unexpectedly into space and on some very mind-bending and ironic adventures. The book was better, but you can't read it in two hours. No vices. later... Saw it again on video, and lowered my grade. The book was great, but the movie was really terrible. Probably even worse if you didn't read the book.
