I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this sumptuous classic. I expected the film to seem more dated than it did. The scenery is grand, the action and special effects are convincing, the storyline and themes are appealing, and the ending is not very "Hollywood". Rated G for a dearth of sex, violence, and cussing.
