A pretty deep and complex movie about a children's book writer and his wife, coping with the death of their two sons, and a young boy who spends the summer with them, although the married couple are technically separated. Relationships develop, and it gets pretty complicated. Dramatic, at points funny, slightly twisted, and all the characters are excellent. Not for kids due to sexual material.

I don't believe this story. That's why I wouldn't call it romantic. Kim Basinger looks too old, to my regret.
