A battle between 2 magicians in the late 1800's where they are trying to one-up each other's tricks. Their competitiveness turns them against each each other resulting in a little violence, revenge, etc. The story is seems meant to be exciting and mysterious, but turns out to be neither.
Pan's Labyrinth

A little girl in wartime Spain discovers a dark, mythical world in the back yard of her stepfather's war post. The story is part fantasy, part war/politics, with the majority being the latter. Almost an 'A'. Surprisingly violent - not for children or the squeamish.

A great movie about a small family living in the desert of New Mexico. They live off virtually no money, surviving off the land and what they scavange from the local dump. When they get audited by the IRS, they all go through some new understanding of themselves, inlcuding the IRS auditor who decides to stay and live with them.

This was one of the worst movies I have ever seen! Don't waste your time or money! I liked the first one, so I thought maybe this one might be somewhat entertaining, but it completely and totally sucked!

A great family movie. It's about a kid who is suffering from a family curse put on one of his great grandfathers who is sent to a jail-type camp where all the kids dig holes all day. There is a fairly deep plot surrounding the curse, the jail/camp warden, and some of the other kids there. The plot might be too complex for kids under about 8 or 10 years old, but otherwise this can be thouroughly enjoyed by all ages. Great performances from Sigorney Weaver and Jon Voight.
