She's really taken off with the talking. She hasn't quite got all the sounds down, but she's putting together sentences and big concepts almost without bound.

You have to listen in her language, because of the missing sounds, and we're often confused, but she knows exactly what she means and repeats it identically to us as if we're just dense. She eats a lot of noodles, and that's a tough one, it's like "youda". Another one that took us a while was "djayabeen", of course, jellybeans! And "sheedje", which is cheese. She like to play "are you..." a cat, or Theo, or mommy, or whatever, sometimes coming up with her own out of nowhere (the answer, of course, "no... I'm Daddy!).

A couple days ago I came into the bedroom, where she was sitting on the bed with a book. "Hello Daddy. I'm reading a book." she said clearly. We've been reading books to her since ever, and she has always been quite interested, but now she's taken to reading them mostly herself. She doesn't really read them, just turns the pages and says a word here and there.

Another surprising one was when I picked up a sprig of rosemary (I think) that Vera had set on the counter for a recipe or something, and invited Amber to smell it. "Smells like twees!"

I'm just amazed at her level of intuition. She knows what she wants, and if she wants a "different" one. She says "no" a lot, most commonly "no, daddy". She rarely says yes: her word for that is "ok". She's very good at "thank you", but we're still working on "please".
