Hooflepoof tries to close the gate, but it's too late to stop the lumbering mass of Giant Lizards. Six of them get through the gate before he manages to shut it. Most of them run immediately into the forest in the downstream direction, but one bumps into Elfo and instinctively attacks him. Elfo doesn't retaliate, and being invisible, the Giant Lizard can't see Elfo, so that lizard too runs into the forest after the others.

Barry jumps up on the wall, where he can see that the wall forms a fairly small circle, where apparently eight of the Giant Lizards were kept, only two of whom now remain, looking around confusedly trying to figure out what just happened and where all their friends went. Barry jumps down and rummages around the pen, looking mostly for lizard eggs, but finds only hay, feces, a water trough, and a food trough, which is of course empty.

Hooflepoof opens the gate again, and one of the remaining Giant Lizards pounds for the exit. He bumps into Hooflepoof and bites him twice, but like the other, doesn't understand what he's fighting, and soon runs into the forest.

"Hey come on", whispers Leosin, "we're wasting time. We've only got an hour of invisibility, and we've already spent about half of it releasing their livestock. Let's go see what else we can find out."

"Ok," whispers Hooflepoof, and nearby Elfo assents, but Barry isn't with them, since he was searching the pen.

"Black Barry, where are you?" whispers Hooflepoof, but there is no answer. He speaks a little louder this time - "Black Barry?" - who then hears, and feels his way back over to reunite with the group.
