In the morning, Bilbo is the first to awaken, and takes a look around the camp, not finding anything of interest. Just dead lizardfolk scattered about, the canoes, and the smoldering firepit. As the others wake up, Elbolin explores the periphery of the camp, looking for an exit trail or anything else of significance. He finds one sort of rough trail into the woods, which isn't very well cut but has definitely had some traffic. He follows it a few dozen yards into the woods, where it ends in a very stinky pit: the lizardfolks' bathroom.

There don't seem to be any other good exits from this place; the mere around is mushy wilderness. The opposite bank of the river is steep, muddy, and there are no visible tracks. It appears that this beach is just the landing spot, where the canoes disembark, probably because the trail leads away from the river. The adventurers could tell that the lizardfolk arrived from upstream, and as Leosin reminds them, they are following the trail of the loot, so that's the way they should go. They pack up their belongings and pick a few of the best canoes for their journey.
