As Bilbo waits around in the cultists' barracks, suddenly ears perk up as they hear a voice from far away down the corridor, "chow time!". The cultists all get up and Bilbo follows them out to the mouth of the cave, where a makeshift chow line has been set up under a minimal tent. The hunters are carving off and serving pieces of meat from a crudely fire-cooked wild beast, but it smells delicious, and there is also soup, ham and turkey and cheese sandwiches, and some ale. Bilbo serves herself up a plate, and a small glass of ale, though she is careful not to drink too much, so as to keep her wits about her.

There aren't any tables or chairs; the cultists and a few kobolds just sit around in small groups on the ground, or on whatever stumps or rocks are available. Bilbo sits with a group of cultists, but far enough away as to not be too friendly, and listens to their conversation.

"How long do you suppose we'll be here?" one of the cultists asks another, in idle chatter.

"I dunno, probably at least a week or so, until the eggs hatch I guess," the other one answers.

"What do you suppose we'll do next?"

"Well that's up to Anamith, I guess. We'll probably keep looting. Or else we'll join the group taking the loot up north."

Elfo, Nars and Gourbain also hear the call to dinner and follow a couple of kobolds over to the chow line. After they serve up their plates, they spot Bilbo (they have to look twice to recognize her, but they are pretty sure it is her), and sit down just nearby.

Black Barry, Karat, and Hooflepoof, in whispers, make a plan to ambush Anamith and the berzerkers. They are a formidable enemy, if taken all at once, but the adventurers figure they can use the topology to their advantage; the passage to the cavern where they are is only big enough for one of the creatures, so they will have to come through single file. If they can get them to come through the passage, and block them from getting out into the room, they can fight only one at a time, and gang up on them in the passage entryway.

The adventurers all gather very close, blocking the passageway, and Hooflepoof stage-whispers to sound like he's being quiet, but loud enough to hear: "Look at this chest. I'll open it with my lock-picking tools!"

Apparently their ruse works, as they hear some exclamations in the cavern through the passage, and before two minutes have passed, a berzerker appears in the passage. They surprise him with the ambush and manage to do some damage, but he pushes through them and fights them from behind. Another berzerker appears in the passage, and the strongest of the adventurers continue to block him, while Elbolin takes on the one that escaped, with the help of Black Barry's pet Reddy who harasses and distracts him. Elbolin deals the berzerker a lot of damage, but it does enough damage to him in return that Karat has to cast a Prayer of Healing to restore his health (along with adding a bit to everyone else's). Hooflepoof, Karat, and Karat continue to pin the second berserker in the passage and battle him there. It seems that the adventurers have the upper hand.
