I'm driving in my truck with Vera, going south on 217 where it goes for a long downhill approaching Beaverton. There is a bunch of sand spilled on the roadway, and cars are stuck and crashing. We seem to be navigating through it without too much difficulty, but Vera says she wants some of the sand, so we pull off the side of the road, into a big pile of it. We're trying to scoop it up somewhere, but it seems like there's already plenty on the floorboards in the back seats. Then I'm looking at the wheels buried pretty deeply in this sand, and hope we don't have trouble getting out.
