I'm at my parents' house. The property is very dry. There are a bunch of fires around the property, burning out of control, and people are fighting them. I'm just making some trims on this monkey tree that happens to be outside the kitchen window. There's a little wayward stick, so I decide (for some reason) to try burning it, but it catches the tree on fire. Well, that was dumb.

I go get a hose and spray it up but it's very ineffective, just doesn't spray high enough to reach the fire. It has one of those sprayer handles on it that you twist to select the spray pattern; surely it has a setting for a strong, directed spray. But I can't decipher any of the marks on there, they are all mysterious pictures and words and none of them suggests a jet spray. Finally I find it just by guessing different settings until I get it right, and start spraying the fire.

It works pretty well and I put out most of the fire, but there are still little pockets of flame within the tree, so I have to go around to different angles and try to put them all out.

(Presently there are Santa Anna fires in California, Los Angeles is burning out of control, it's all over the news)
