Scary Snakes and Forlorn Birds | | fritz | Oct 8, 2024 | Me, Vera and Amber are in a yard outside somebody's house; it's not clear if it is our house or somebody else's. To the right of the path leading up to the front door is a planting bed with a large bush, like the Japanese Maple I used to have at my Miles Court house. As I get close, I notice snakes coiled around on the ground under the tree. I come closer to get a better look. There are at least four or five snakes, and they several of them are very large and fierce. One of them lunges toward me, as a threat, opening its jaws a ridiculous amount, such that its mouth is about two feet across. I usher Amber back away from the snakes.
Vera steps up dangerously close to the snakes, and reaches out to rescue a small, forlorn, yellow bird that is perched in the branches of the three. Its feathers are damp and ruffled as though one of the snakes was trying to eat it. She picks it up and takes it away, then finds another in the branches and rescues it as well. | Next: Run Vera Run |
