I'm in mountainous terrain, surrounded by large slices of grey shale on all sides. I'm down in a steep dip, like the center of a volcano, with a pool of water in the middle, filled with milky grey water. I stand just a foot or so from the pool.

I feel the earth shake gently, but it feels like there might be a larger earthquake coming. I'm not sure what to do - falling rocks seem like an imminent hazard - until I see two cats arrive from somewhere and swim out into the pool. If even cats are swimming out into the pool to protect themselves from the falling rocks, I probably should follow their example. So I start to wade out into the grey pool, then realize that I have my phone and mp3 player with me, so I can't submerge in the water without ruining them. I peel off my puffy jacket, which has the items in the pockets, and sling it over to the bank.

Later my jacket has gone missing, with my electronics, and I'm trying to find it. I'm asking someone, I think my brother Dave, if he was up there by that pool, whether my jacket was there at that time, and if maybe he or somebody else threw it into the pool.
