Vera (my wife) announces she is leaving, and taking Amber (our daughter) with her. We discuss this for a minute, me saying like, you can't do that, her saying, well yes that's what I'm doing, and me saying why and whatnot, while recognizing that yeah she sort of can do that. It comes up that she's fallen in love with another guy, a fellow from my distant past named Finn. So I'm like "oh, so Karen is available. Can I have her number?"

(I haven't seen Finn and Karen in several decades, and had no particular affinity for either one of them.)
