I'm in a foreign country. It is night, and there is a flood ongoing. I think I need to get to bed because I'm leaving tomorrow, but I just can't help watching the sea, and what is going on.

I go to a service window, that I think may be a hotel, to get some change to buy a can of soda. They give me a stack of papers including several checks in the total value of $9. I say no that's not right, I gave you $20. They disagree, and we discuss it for a minute before I say "well you're probably right" and walk away. I don't think it helped me buy my soda.

The water is roiling up to the very edge of the city (like a boardwalk), and I see an exhausted man being pulled from the water, like he'd fallen off a boat and been in there a while. Then I see a small creature jump in and swim away, some furry animal indigenous to this area and remark "only in this country would you see that animal jumping INTO the flood water."
