I'm backing up Vera's car in our driveway, above the house. I drive too close to Victoria's car, which is parked in its usual spot under the tree. Both cars are pointed uphill, but I'm going backward, and I notice just before they scrape, but it seems I can't really do anything about it. At least, it should just be a scrape, not a dent (*).
Then we get out of the car and I notice that somebody is doing a lot of work out by the barn, clearing the land, digging up stumps and removing brush. This surprises me, because I didn't think we hired them to do that, but there are a lot of them working on it - at least two groups of about 6 men, working very hard at it - so I don't interrupt them. It seems like an ok thing to be doing anyway. The land, which in real life is blocked by a hill and brush in the direction to the north side of the barn, is all clear and I can see a field of fresh dirt.
(*) My camper is presently parked in the driveway, where I must back up past it in a similar way, and it always seems like I get a little closer to it than I intend. And there are delivery trucks and such that come fairly often, and sometimes have to back up around there, and it worries me that they will clip the trailer. |
