I'm at the beach with some people who are unidentifiable, but familiar, like family. The tide is going out, and the slop of the beach is such that I can tell what it's going to do next - it drops off rapidly, but then there will a large shallow area, and then big waves. But where there was sand further up the beach, now the waves course over large pebbles. I tell my companions, "well, it's ebb tide, which is the lowest part of the tide, and it'll be this way for a couple hours. It's not great for swimming, but there should be some great fish to see down here", (and looking into the shallows I can see several groups of large and colorful fish), "so I'm going to go get my snorkel. Also there should be some great waves over here" (and a spectacular wave crashes, just beyond the shallows, where the water suddenly becomes deeper). |
